There are many ways to get your body ready for summer (or as I like to call it, "Speedo season"). Typically I just lift weights at the gym and eat relatively healthy food most of the time, but this week I thought I would head down to the local greenway and give running a try.
So what do I think about running? Well, it seems to be a pretty damn popular, uh, "sport", I guess. And despite the fact that long duration cardio is pretty horrible for fat loss, a lot of people use it to do just that. I guess you could say, I think running is useful for escaping immediate danger like serial killers or the police, but it's not something I would want to do every day for fun. But like I said, I was going to give it a shot. And it does burn calories so why not?
A big part of this story is the greenway. What an amazing and beautiful place. You know when you see runners on the side of a busy road and they're just sucking exhaust fumes from rush hour traffic? It's like they want to run to improve their health but instead they're just giving themselves cancer. But on the greenway? It's like paradise. And the trees all around you are just permeating fresh oxygen directly into your lungs. And it's simply beautiful to top things off. There's no denying that whether you're walking, biking, or running on the greenway, it's going to do you a whole lot of good.
So how was the experience and how did it make me feel? Well, I shot this video over two afternoons. I work out, I never skip leg day, and my legs are pretty ripped. That being said, they were so sore that it had me walking like an old lady for the next few days. Other than that, it was pretty fun though. I mean, I'm not going to become a runner or anything because of it, but going into the middle of nature and experiencing the beautiful weather and the trees and animals that were flourishing in the middle of spring was incredible. Getting some good exercise in was just the icing on the cake.
Whether or not you enjoy running, I would definitely recommend adding two things into your life: exercise and nature. The plant and animal life on this planet is extraordinary and embracing and coexisting with it will, without a doubt, improve your mental, physical, and spiritual health. The bodies we were born into are also amazing gifts. Maintaining them with proper nourishment and exercise is going to enhance your life on all levels.
I hope you enjoyed my latest video and thank you so much for stopping by the site. Until next time, dominate life.
