Have you ever wanted to climb on top of your local Walmart or Target? Have you ever seen a ladder on the side of a building at your local strip mall and wanted to climb it just because it was there? I have. In fact, I've been on the tops of many buildings in many different shopping centers over the years.
But what's the point? I mean, you go up there and there's some AC units, maybe you get a cool view, but so what? Why do it? It's hard to explain, but climbing on top of buildings is pretty damn exciting. First of all, the ladder itself is typically obstructed by a grate and some metal bars. Next, once you get up there, you have to be kind of sneaky. For example, the roof I climbed in this video was really noisy, even when I walked slowly. On top of everything else, you're on the top of a building that people are walking to and from. If you walk towards the edge of the building, there is a chance someone will see you, and you don't want to attract unwanted attention.
And that's the most exciting part, honestly. You can't help but think, "What if someone sees me up here and sends someone up to get me?" So you get up on the roof and start looking at the other rooftops you are attached to. Then you start noticing all the different ladders around. Then you start to wonder if there are any soft spots in the roof that you might fall through if you start running.
I realize that most normal people don't ever consider climbing on building just out of curiosity or for adventure's sake, but that is exactly why I made this video. I wanted to take those same normal people with me on an adventure. That video may only last a couple minutes, but most people have short attention spans anyway.
Thanks for stopping by. Let me know in the comments below if you've ever climbed anywhere you weren't supposed to. I would love to hear some fun stories or thoughts about the video in general. Until next time.
